How It All Began
Guyville.com evolved from an original concept which began at Swarthmore College in PA by seniors Dan Sachar and Nick Lehmann. Before graduation, the two agreed to begin a web-site targeted to young men leaving college and entering the real world. With the help of many of their friends and a very unique-sounding name, Smack 'em Yack 'em began. A few years later, continuing the concept of creating original online content for men, Dan Sachar created Guyville.com in 1999. With the help and hard work of a team led by Ka Pang, the site's head designer, and William Ellison, the head of technology, and many writers, the site was created over the summer and early fall of 1999 and released in October. It's goal is to become the number one destination for men 18-44 online and the largest and most comprehensive site aimed specifically at men's issues.
